Ekk!!! Week Six!!!!

September 29th 2008

Okay so Monday was not exciting in the least bit...Well at least during the day. Didn't do much. Came back home and was planning on taking a nap, but decided it would be more fun for me to keep Nimer from sleeping...And so that is what I did...I bugged him...or tried to but it turned into more of him bugging me than me bugging him. Why is it that everybody has to find out just how ticklish I am? I mean Grandpa doesn't let up...Garrett doesn't let up...Nobody I ever worked with let up on it...and now neither do either of my host brothers...I spend most of the day smacking them for poking me in the side. Geeze oh brother!
Anyways, so that night after I realized that I got blown off by Tanya I called Cat and her and I went to the bar that everybody was at. Well I got pre "week before my birthday" tipsy. Haha...Nimer ended up being there too so I made him take Cat back to her apartment...I always got be the mother...not that she needed one, but I needed to make sure she was safe, which she was grateful for since she certainly didn't want to take a taxi after drinking! But we had fun and I tried a few drinks I had never had before...and they sure beat drinking Jungle Juice in Chi Phi's basement! Although I do miss dancing! But now that Ramadan is offically over there are plans in the motions to go check out the night clubs here...Not quite frat row in Btown but hey...it should be an interesting aspect of the social life around here!

September 30th 2008

Well since my plans for Eid have been offically ruined I didn't do much today. I did a little shopping and went with Cat to the movies. Later in the night I went and smoked Shisha with some people in Shemisani, but not too much of interest for my first day of Eid. What can I say other than most places are closed down during Eid. Cat and I went and saw Mama Mia...One of those movies that you aren't really sure if you liked. But hey we got to eat during the day time. I guess that is a plus. Not much more to report for this day.

October 1st, 2008

Okay so today some of the stores were opened and I was able to go and attempt to find some more clothes for me to wear in Jordan. I did buy a really cute skirt for like 10 JD, but other than that nothing exciting during the day time.
Later in the night I met up with Lauren and she introduced me to her friends Alex and Omar. We all decided to go to the "Eco Tourism Cafe" in downtown. If you are looking for cheap places to go down town would be the place to go. Seriously for all four of us and getting tea and shisha the bill was a total of 4 JD. That is so cheap. Too bad I don't have much taste for downtown! Not too mention the cheap bill gets forgotten when you take a taxi there at 2 JD per ride. All well. So we played Hearts. The one thing I really like about Jordan is nobody is in a hurry for you to leave there cafe. You can not order something for hours and just sit there and they don't care. I wish it were more like that in America.

October 2nd 2008

I met up with Abdullah today. At first we just went and smoked some shisha, but after that we went to this fast food ish place and eat Hummus, Fulle, and Falaful. (Spelling? not sure about it in English). This was my first time having all of these well except for Hummus...my host mom will tell you I eat that way too much! Haha actually it is one of the only things I eat!
Anyways, Abdullah took me on what would be considered a car ride tour of Amman and all of the places I haven't been so far. He just showed me how to get to different places and such! It was pretty cool. But nothing really much worth of a note.

October 3rd 2008

So today I decided to go for a walk-about. I walked all the way from the seventh cirle to Abdoun which let me tell you is a very far walk. I walked passed the Canadian embassy. Haha there was only one guard at the gate. Shows how threatened Canada feels.
Anyways I got hardcore stalked by this one guy driving in a car. He stalked me for about two miles when I was walking home. Finally I got out my phone and called Ahmad. Ahmad wanted to come pick me up, but I thought the guy took off. After I hung up with Ahmad the guy came back however, but he changed his car. It was so weird. Finally I ditched him. And I made sure he didn't follow me home.
Later I went out with some of my friends. I was walking to meet them and nother guy started to follow me. He was on foot. Finally I turned around and told him in Arabic that "I didn't speak Arabic well and I couldn't understand him...and then I told him Thank you BYE" he finally left me alone. But then another guy tried to follow me to meet my friends and I told him to go fuck his mother cause he was really annoying me. He left!
I spent some time with my friends and we all just talked about this and that. Nothing all that cool. So when I left surprise surprise I got followed again. This guy was persistant. I even gave him a fake number so he would leave. I told him I had a finance but he didn't care. It took me half an hour to get him to leave. But after he left these guys in this car kept trying to get my attention, but I just ignored them and they finally bugged off as well!
So all this tells me is that now that Ramadan is over my "don't stalk me veil" has been lifted and all the little boys now that they are allowed to think about girls again are dying for some action! Geeze oh pete somebody shoot me!
Haha...but I still love Amman!

October 4th, 2008

Saturday's is Amman are always rather uneventful. Seriously...I mean because I know I have courses on Sunday I just don't do anything. So basically I have nothing to report for my last day of vacation. I went to the gym this day and worked myself into the ground...Actually it was kind of fun...in a painful sort of way...Anyways after the gym I did nothing...so yeah big fun...not!!!

October 5th,2008

Sunday! Okay so basically I didn't do much today either. I went to classes...I was supposed to meet with Nada today but that got canceled because I had to go to a CIEE meeting. Which was basically were we spent an hour bitching about what we didn't like with our arabic courses and/or teachers...It was all very unproductive. Like I seriously couldn't have thought of a better waste of my time. I didn't feel like this meeting solved anything really. Anyways, after this I went to the gym and then came home and did 3 hours worth of Arabic homework! Wow my life is just so exciting!
